A year ago, trust and commitment set the stage for a bold new chapter in my life. That’s when I began crafting the story of In Harmony – my coaching, mentoring, and consulting practice – born from a deep desire to live a more fulfilling life in tune with my values and natural talents. It wasn’t an easy choice, but eventually in October I decided to step away from the well-rehearsed choreography of my corporate job. Instead, I embraced the courage to create my own dance – one where I set the rhythm, led by passion, purpose, and the freedom to move in my own unique way.
My story felt like learning a new dance, exciting one moment, awkward the next. The mix of excitement, fear, and self-doubt were in the back and sometimes in the foreground. I’d planned a smooth-dynamic tango into my new chapter, but life decided to crank up the music even more and throw in some unexpected twists. Changes came flying at me! Both at work and in my personal life there were times I felt like I was trying to keep up with a dance partner who skipped rehearsal. I couldn’t help but wonder: How does anyone keep their balance when the music keeps changing so fast?
As the saboteurs in my mind whispered doubts, my inner leader countered with quiet resilience. I realized I had a choice: Who do I listen to? The empowering voice that says: You know the steps, or the perfectionist saboteur demanding unreachable standards? The shift began when I acknowledged the fear, faced it head-on, and released its grip.
Now, a year later, I feel like a changed person, still myself, but with a renewed sense of purpose. The past year has been a mix of challenges and rewards, bringing valuable lessons, personal growth, and inner strength.
And today? Well, I’m practicing the art of dancing in the moment while sketching out the next pages of my story. It’s a rhythm I love, stepping boldly into the unknown despite the fear and letting the music guide the words I write for my future.
The power to write a new chapter starts within!
At the beginning of this year, I co-hosted an interview with Akshay Gupta, a professional racing driver and entrepreneur, alongside my fiancé, David who is the creative force behind @gruszkacytryna – automotive passion YouTube channel. Akshay’s path is a masterclass of courage, resilience, and living life from the inside out, both in his professional career and in his private life. His story, as well as David’s dedication and contagious enthusiasm, reminded me of the power of passion and perseverance. If you are curious about what two fishes discussing water has to do with all this, and much more, you can watch the full interview here.
Every day in my work as coach, I meet extraordinary individuals navigating their own transitions. They arrive with stories of longing and transformation, dreams they yearn to realize, and challenges that seem insurmountable. Together, we uncover what truly matters, shedding old patterns and embracing new ways of being and doing aligned with their values and purpose. Their courage to confront saboteurs and listen to their Leader Within is nothing short of inspiring.
I remember one of my first clients, Jan (name changed for privacy), a former high-level executive in the corporate world who decided to swap boardrooms for blueprints to chase his dream of building his own construction business. When Jan began coaching, he wasn’t seeking guidance for his business, but he wanted to ensure he could juggle his new venture with caring for his family and, keep balance. Together, we explored questions like: What’s the bigger picture you want this chapter to tell? What small, bold steps can you take today to keep your story moving forward? How will you keep the joy in the process, even when the plot thickens? Through the coaching process, Jan realized he didn’t have to write his story with a stiff pen or follow a rigid outline. He could merge purpose, alignment, and even add a little touch of playfulness into the narrative. Jan discovered that fear was just an editor, not the author. Jan’s story is far from finished, but the pages so far are filled with courage, creativity, and a commitment to live a life in harmony.
