Which inspiration comes from your inner wisdom and what do you choose to absorb from the outside world?
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
– Antoine de Saint- Exupéry, The Little Prince
I love this quote, and The Little Prince is one of my favourite books ever that continues to inspire me. I read these words again by a meaningful coincidence just when I was starting a new chapter in my life a month ago. It inspired me to see rightly the wisdom I have already inside me and what is unfolding for me. I continue to repeat the Co-Active coaching cornerstone that people are naturally creative, resourceful and whole and the more deeply I believe it for myself as well, the more I discover how smoothly my ideas and actions come together in synchrony. I was reflecting a lot in this period on what does harmony mean to me and how does it manifest in my life. I used a very simple coaching tool in this process, and I connected to my past, present and future-self to get inspired and take actions that are aligned with all my parts and my life purpose: creating harmony for myself and for others.

What became very clear to me was that my harmony is coming from the chaos and that it all serves me. I was observing how my new identity, now outside the corporate job after 15 years, is forming, storming, norming, and performing, using the old good metaphor from the psychology of the team development. I must admit that this process, while still in progress, is fascinating. What a revelation and surprise was it to me when I noticed that I loved that chaos, the energy of creation, where I can choose when I wanted to go into the harmony and when I wanted to stay with what is a bit messier, and even if it’s not entirely how I was imagining it. A complete surrender and letting go were key to feel well about it. ?
Coming back to the Little Prince, I believe that we see with our heart, gut, mind, full body and spirit if we are willing to really see in an engaged way, not just watch passively only with our eyes. October was for me a month of practicing this way of “seeing” and the inspiration came from various outside sources as well. I had many “aha moments” in this process of evolution into my new way of being and doing.
What are you seeing now in your life? Are you willing to see what is beyond your eyes, without judgment and being sceptical about yourself and others?
So much inspiration this month came to me from the yoga kundalini university that I am participating at, led by Brett Larkin, Guru Singh and other amazing yoga teachers. My biggest insight: being inspired is being “in spirit”, feeling aligned with all your parts and being mindful of others in physical and metaphysical way. A lot of insights came also from my Awake Board peer coaches’ group. Once more, I received a reminder that my leader within, the Tango Dancer, knows what she does, she is a creative woman, and she has the capacity to follow the right steps and to improvise at the same time.
Some precious inspiration came also from the Master Coaches I follow: Migena Gjerazi, Michelle Kempton, Alyssa Nobriga and Rich Litvin, who are generously sharing their deep wisdom, knowledge and talents via various channels.
And finally, the most important inspiration for me, my clients, people who trusted me and allow me to support them in their self-discovery process. Adaptability and solidarity, these strong words that one of my clients brought up in our session in Madrid, stayed with me as the expression of what we may need more of these days. I’m now in Spain, in Almeria-Garrucha, following another of my private big dreams together with my fiancé David. While we are here in a beautiful, safe space, not too far from here, in Valencia, people are going through a dramatic time as that area was just recently heavily affected by the floods. Many people lost their life or their beloved ones and many lost all their material belongings. It’s difficult to find words of inspiration in such situations. But when I think about being “in spirit”, those two words: solidarity and adaptability come to me, and I feel a lot of empathy and compassion for those who go through this very difficult experience with pain, anger and disappointment. At the same time, I hold a lot of hope and trust that they will find the way to overcome this huge crisis.
As we go through various stages and situations in life, with floods and storms in a smaller and bigger meaning, I wish myself and people around to be more “in spirit”, inspired by collaboration, meaningful impact and balance that we can create together, each of us starting in our small context. And certainly, this will not happen by seeing only with our eyes and noticing only the end of our nose. For me it is about being aware that we are constantly in relationship with ourselves and with others and that our responsibility is to take care of both.
