The Books that have inspired me

I believe that the books, stories we absorb, impact substantially our being and doing, so I try to listen to my intuition in my choices and most of the times, the right book pops up in front of my eyes at the right time.

Which are your favourites books, stories that were your lighthouse, guiding you to a safe harbour? Maybe you recall the one from your childhood that had a major impact on you?

Here are some of the books that have inspired me so far in my self-exploration journey (not an exhaustive list, just a few to start with).

From one of my bookshelves
  • Pełnia życia* by Agnieszka Maciag, a gift from my beloved friend Teresa with a wish for me to reach a fulfilled life, experience delicious tastes of life and joy from connecting to people and small daily moments. This book is placed on my bedroom table and serves as my “daily to go” source of inspiration. I received it in 2017 and it seems like Teresa’s wishes have some magic power ?
  • Think like a monk by Jay Shetty. I got to know about Jay Shetty from my French teacher. I was in France at that time, practicing my language skills, and unfortunately with some heavy feelings in my heart. This book helped me to move on and honour my inner strength and vulnerability.
  • Inner Engineering. A Yogi’s Guide to Joy by Sadhguru has helped me to go into a deeper dimension of my human experience. I bought it at the “Inner Engineering” workshop in Copenhagen, an unforgettable experience, and some of the learnings continue to guide in the discovery of my joy.
  • Czuła przewodniczka* and Przędza* by Natalia De Barbaro, a major inspiration in the discovery of my feminine energy and power of vulnerability. I was reading it in “one go” as it was not an option to put such an interesting journey on standby.
  • Abundance: The Inner Path to Wealth by Deepak Chopra, has guided me to live my life from the space of trust that all I need is already here. It has supported me to get rid of some limiting believes on my full permission to live a prosperous life.
  • Połączeni ściezkami intuicyjnej mądrości by Gabriel Roth. This story of Gabrielle Roth, the founder and creator of 5rythms® dance and the 5 rhythms® practice that I have started in Copenhagen, have reconnected me to my body awareness, into a broader context of connection to myself, to others and to dance which is my passion since I was 8 years old.
  • My evergreens The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll are for me a pure expression of creativity and the power of metaphor that can explain our world in such a beautiful way, and with a certain dose of unexplainable magic.
  • And last, not least important for me, sharing the book from my childhood, Ania z Zielonego Wzgórza by Lucy Maud Montgomerya story about a little girl with red hair, that hugely impacted me. My mum was reading it to me to boost my self-esteem as my red hair was a bit of too much of diversity in early 80ies for a middle-size city in Poland. Thank you Mamuś!

I hope some of those books may be of inspiration also for you. Enjoy reading them via your lenses!

*These books are available only in Polish version so far and to my best knowledge. Czuła Przewodniczka is avilable also in Spanish version.
