This classic coaching question, simple to ask and many times difficult to answer has stayed with me since some time. Today was my last day in my corporate job in Novo Nordisk. After 15 years of an amazing journey, with “anything but linear career path”, living in various countries, collaborating with great people, learning and discovering who I am and who I want to become, my answer to this simple question came slowly but surely.
It’s time to change my narrative. I want to serve people around the world to help them in creating their harmony, balance, and a fulfilled life. Therefore, from now on I will fully dedicate in professional life to my freelance practice as a coach & consultant.
How many times did you feel that you wanted to change something in your life?
As I follow what I really want, my mind, heart and soul are filled with gratitude to all people I had an opportunity to work and connect with during my time in Novo Nordisk. I truly believe that the company means people that create a unique culture, ways of being and doing. And yes, there are also processes and systems but behind that, besides AI, there is always a beautiful brain and the human touch that makes a difference. I had a pleasure and honour to work with amazing people, leaders and managers, team members and colleagues across the world who were not focused on the fancy titles or company politics but rather on what we can create together, how can we support each other and our teams to ultimately provide better solutions and service to our customers.
A big thank you to people who gave me the chance to unfold my talents: Ognenka, Marcin, Tra-Mi, Mohamed, Matt, Avideh, Yan, Anja, Mike, Kristin, Sim and Stephanie. Each of you has inspired me in your own unique way. Some of you saw it way before I was even aware of my inner power. You helped me to see it and spread my wings. A special thank you to Tra-Mi who left Novo Nordisk some time ago but stayed with me as a true friend and supported me both in the moments of glory and in the deep sadness.
Another good and wise friend Teresa shared this quote with me: “There are no accidental meetings in our life. Every person we meet is either a lesson, a test or a unique gift”. I’m grateful for all gifts, lessons and tests I met in Novo Nordisk. You all helped me to find out what is important in life for me. I’m deeply grateful for all inspirations, exchange and sparring on the professional and private topics.
As I am ready to make a big leap, I am full of trust about the future, and I feel a bit of nostalgy about what I leave behind. Even the change one wants brings a lot of emotions and takes energy. I am embracing all that this new chapter brings for me and my beloved ones. I take with me my backpack full of experience, knowledge and especially of long-lasting human connections.
It’s not a farewell to the colleagues from Novo Nordisk, it’s more a see you around in this world full of unlimited possibilities.
What you focus on grows, and today I choose to focus on expansion, joy, and serving my current and future clients in the best way I can.
What is your current or upcoming defining step? It’s up to you to choose what you want to focus on.
I dedicate this article to the fantastic people who I met in Novo Nordisk! THANK YOU & SEE YOU!
